Student-operated Black Cultural Center opens on campus

The student-operated Black Cultural Center (BCC) opened on campus and provided a place for Black students to socialize when they came to the University. Warren Coleman was appointed acting director on January 24, 1972. James Carter was named director one year later, but resigned on March 2, 1973. Elmore M. Browne took over on September 10, 1973.
