Mildred S. Bunton and Calvin Waller Scholarship and Fellows programs are initiated
September, 1994
The Mildred S. Bunton and Calvin Waller Scholarship and Fellows programs were initiated in 1993. The programs, named in honor of the first African American male and female to graduate from Penn State, seek to enhance the diversity of undergraduate and graduate representation at the University.
Bunton-Waller Scholarship participants receive about $3000 a year; Pennsylvania residents are eligible for full in-state tuition and room and board and non-residents are eligible for out of state tuition.
The programs replaced and enhanced diversity scholarships such as the Black Scholars program.
