W.E.B. Du Bois speaks at Penn State

March 3, 1950

W.E.B. Du Bois spoke at Penn State as part of Negro History Week. “Modern democracy cannot succeed unless all races and creeds can integrate themselves and live together on an equal basis,” proclaimed DuBois. He was the first Negro to stay at the Nittany Lion Inn, though he was not allowed to eat in the dining room.
