University and community events are planned to recognize Martin Luther King, Jr.

December, 1985

Penn State President Bryce Jordan formed a planning committee to recognize Martin Luther King, Jr. James B. Stewart, director of the Black Studies Program, served as the inaugural chair. 

The committee planned an annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Commemoration, including various university and community events on and around the official Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday.
