Adam Taliaferro
Penn State freshman cornerback Adam Taliaferro was seriously injured in a nationally televised football game against Ohio State on September 23, 2000. Despite being told he might not walk again, within a year Taliaferro completed a determined and courageous recovery. Though he would never again play college football, on September 1, 2001, Taliaferro miraculously led the Nittany Lions onto the field to start a new season.
